I downloaded and installed it and when it asked me for my login info, it doesn’t do anything after hitting submit.
It works from here, the behaviour you get is when it can’t reach plurk.com. Gonna fix that.
That’s weird as I can see my plurk timeline using Firefox but can’t seem to login using Plurker. Let me know if you need more info. Thanks again.
I got the same problem: Just fill the account and pwd ,then click submit, and … nothing happens.Looking forward to the next version!!
Same problem for me as well man.
This looks cool as I could see from the screenshot, too bad i still can’t use it yet.
Can you keep me posted of the next version? Thanks.
I have the same problem about hitting submit and not connecting. Plurk appears to be up though. Did you mean it is a problem with Plurker connecting?
sorry all, will look on the problem this weekend, just got back from holiday :)
Seems that I found where the problem originates, new version coming soon, but now lots of work to be done elsewhere :(
New version will include:
- auto update system
- securely save user/pass for optional autologin
- follow/nofollow, block/unblock mark/unmark friends functionality
Why It only works in Windows… can you make it run in Linux too…
I use Adobe Air Alpha in Linux.
I just downloaded and installed it, but I am having the log in problem too. I am really looking forward to using Plurker if it would only let me log in.
Same here. Downloaded it on my Mac and can’t login.
Running into the login issue as well, found this AIR app while searching for the Windows only app someone was suppose to be releasing. Either way looking forward to future updates :)
I’m really looking forward to this app. Please make it ready fast…
Plurker got updated to 0.5! Click on the badge to install/upgrade.
I hope I solved the login problem, if not, now the login process is indicated with messages, so you guys can tell me when it stopped.
Also this version contains an auto updater, so when a new release is available, you’ll be notified when plurker starts (it even updates itself).
Feel free to play with, pls report any bugs here or by mail, thx :)
I login, the window disappears and reappears with the wrong info i typed in before, i deleted and reinstalled and it still appears with the wrong info. Where is the password stored so I can delete it?
If you uncheck the “Remember me”, it should erase the stored data from the AIR.EncryptedLocalStore, which is encrypted by the default encrytion which your operating system uses.
Now it gets stuck on “parsing friends”
I have tested it in 2 XP machines and 1 Vista machine. it gets stuck in “Parsing Friends” on both.
There is actual doubt now that the app actually exists since no one has seen it running in motion. could you make a video capture to prove us wrong?.
I also now it get stuck on “parsing friends”
Mac OS 10.5
Finally that problem fixed.
The problem was, that I felt evident, that language files – no matter which one – are served by handy json objects, easy to parse on plurk.com or everywhere. Well some didn’t, like the default english one. Since i used and tested in hungarian, the bug which blocked you never came up, until i set my plkurklang to english.
Now plurker is packaged with a default set of english messages, until i find a way to grab that one online too.
Your client should update on start.
it works. it indeed works!. that is great. just two questions:
It shows you privates too?
it is AIR + Flash or AIR + Flex based?
Thanks.
Keep the great work!
oh. and it does autorefresh or how you make it refresh?
It’s AIR + HTML/JS/CSS
Damn, it is possible, that I disabled autoupdate, its rather annoying while debug. Gonna fix that today, will update automatically :D
Privates will be the next feature.
oh.. and one little thing?. no character counter?. really?. i think that should be the next feature too.
i will keep out for the updates. thank you.
character counter, ok, noted :)
This is great. It’s finally showing my plurks from my timeline.
However, I seem to be unable to plurk from the interface. Pressing on Enter or clicking on the Plurk button doesn’t seem to do anything.
Also, I tried replying to a plurk and I get the same thing.
Some features I would like to see would be the character counter, karma, a refresh button, and the ability to send plurks. :)
Keep up the great work!
Will
@will: on what OS you loaded it?. i tested it on XP and Vista. but i ignore if it works in mac or linux. AIR is different for each platform. the most mature one is of course the windows version.
@Avatar, I tried it on WinXP SP3. I just relaunched it and it seems to display my plurks only and not my timeline (all plurks).
It seems to be showing all the plurks in my timeline now. weird.
Feature request: Minimize to system tray, much like pidgin, digsby, spaz, and twhirl does. :D
Will: oh i see. that is a flaw with the current non official api. minimize to tray would be good, yes. funny enough not even a third of AIR do that. wish all of them should.

It works fine on my Vista. Now what it lacks is some features
Hey, Thanks _nec, it’s working now. How COOL!!!
This is great work! As soon as there is some sort of refresh option, I’ll use it quite often.
@twisterMc:yes. i think the most important features are refresh button, character counter and minimize to tray. in that very order.
umm. i don`t know why i got the impression you would be updating monthly. c`mon. give me characters counting and a refresh button and i leave you alone for two months. :P
i will also promote it. promise
oh and minimize to tray. those 3 things are the most important.
:( ah too bad to see there has not been a update in almost two months.
I tried it on OS X Leopard and all replies shows my username even if i’m not the one who replied to a plurk.
I’m currently using OS X Leopard and it’s working perfectly. I hope you’ll continue developing the software. Thank you!
Not sure if others are having this problem but using Windows 7, it runs and shows timeline I just cant update or reply on it!
im using it with bumptop running and it always flashes when the images in bumptop is changing, and also it’s not updating live. btw its a good app.
@ALL:
Looks like the developer has abandoned the project as he also don’t replies via E-mail.
Would still be nice if he could free his work in plurker.
Sad thing, and my bad, but i’ve had so little time lately on this project. Also was thinking on rewriting the whole in flex.
But ok, I will look into it, maybe put the whole thing on googlecode or github, and anyone who feels for it, can collaborate.
Thank you _nec. in the end the only thing it need to be a basic client was that it had refresh button so it did refreshed and that it could be set to refresh every certain time (1-5 minutes)
So if you give us that. at least the button it would be cool. it will also be cool if you also decide to just release the code. my grief was that it was just there unfinished and it was a shame because it was a great basic client that works.
Thanks again
the client is really great! graphics and organisation is totally whatš needed, the only thing which holds me on using it now – is that it doesnt refreshes(
hope to see new versions!)
@recon517: highly unlikely. don’t hold your breath.
NICE ONE! keep up the development!
i’m rooting 100% for plurker :)
btw, ‘plurker’.. isn’t the name too common? just an idea :)
one more thing: this website.. does it have the english-translated version?
thank you, and love you, developer of plurker :D
cool :D.. i like it very much. thank’s for sharing this app
Now that there is a actual official API, i wonder if you will redo this client.
hi.
How come I can’t download the installer. It’s says adobe download error. I have adobe flash player and adobe air
